Our Campaign

            Our campaign is about the people of Harford County.  It is about giving the people a stronger voice in their government, encouraging civic action, promoting community involvement, and improving our community.

The best way to improve the community is through an open dialogue, with honest debate and respectful input from every citizen.  The money and influence of special interest groups is not the greatest plague of government, but that every influence group does not have the power and activism to have a say in how the government is conducted.  The Founding Fathers envisioned a brave new government, with representatives close to the people so that all citizens can discuss matters of state with their leaders.

We believe that elected officials must have a regular discourse with the citizens- they must not rule as if removed on some far-off-isle across the Atlantic.  This vision has been marginalized in the bureaucracy of the 21st century, but it need not be lost.

Too often, candidates lose track of the issues and voters head to the polls to 'vote the party line' or for the most advertised name, not knowing what the person they are voting for actually plans to do to make their lives better.  Harford is blessed to have many good people running for office, but it takes more than a good person to represent you.  

It takes someone willing to think and debate, someone who will listen to your concerns and work on new ideas- someone who will talk about the issues.  It takes someone who realizes that the goal is not simply to get elected,  but to become a leader of the community, working with the people on issues that will improve the lives of their fellow citizens.

Our campaign is not about election, it is about improvement.  It is about working on the issues, both ours and yours.  We hope that you will join us in this effort.
