Education
Education has become a cornerstone of democracy. It is an essential part of what makes America great, and keeps our society strong as we advance to have each generation accomplish more than their parents. Harford County has a terrific public school system that does a good job of educating our students.
As with most things, however, there is room for improvement. All of our county schools do well in comparison to the rest of the state and nation, but they each have unique difficulties that affect students' ability to learn. We must increase our efforts to ascertain that all Harford schools are good learning environments so that every student has the opportunity to achieve the highest standards of education.
There are several ideas that you may peruse here. These ideas are a basis for discussion, and can be expected to evolve to better serve our students, schools, and county before they could conceivably take affect. Brian has a good relationship with our education community and is in touch with the current state of our schools, and education is a top priority-- we have spent considerable time pondering how to improve our school system. There are many experts in the field, however, and the input of the school system, the students, and Harford's concerned parents will be vital in our efforts.
